Juniperus Conferta Blue Pacific is a low trailing evergreen conifer that forms a dense spreading mat. Crowded awl-shaped needles appear in whorls of three, with ocean-blue-green color, white glaucous bands, and a softly prickly texture. Yellowish-green stems hug the ground and carry short upright side branches; female plants may form blue to blue-black berry-like seed cones.
Grow it in full sun or partial shade in any well-drained soil. It tolerates heat, drought, deer, salt spray, sandy sites, slopes, and urban conditions, but wet soil can cause root problems. Water regularly during the first growing season, then reduce frequency after establishment. Leave its natural ground-cover form unpruned and wear gloves when handling.
