Festuca glauca Intense Blue Casblue makes a compact, slightly tousled cushion of exceptionally intense silvery-blue foliage. The fine evergreen leaves keep their color through the year, and slender buff flower spikes add light movement in early summer without hiding the mound.
Grow this grass in full sun and lean, freely drained soil. It suits patio containers, gravel gardens, rock gardens, and the front of a dry border. Comb out winter-damaged leaves in spring and divide older clumps every few years to preserve their dense shape.
