Rubus idaeus Heritage is an upright, self-fruitful everbearing raspberry that produces red fruit of excellent eating quality. Its sturdy thorny canes can remain self-supporting, while two harvest periods supply a moderate July crop and a heavier late crop.
This deciduous fruit shrub reaches about 4 to 5 feet high and 1.5 to 2 feet wide. Green compound leaves with three to five alternate leaflets surround clusters of white five-petaled flowers and hollow-cone red raspberries.
Grow in full sun to partial shade in organically rich, slightly acidic, moist but well-drained soil. Maintain consistent moisture, remove spent fruiting canes after harvest, thin damaged growth in late winter, and control excess suckers.
