Forsythia × intermedia ‘Goldrausch’ brings a strong burst of spring color, carrying unusually large bright-yellow flowers along bare branches. Its bushy framework begins upright and develops graceful arching growth, followed by mid-green lance-shaped leaves.
Grow this deciduous shrub in full sun or partial shade in moist but well-drained soil. It accepts chalk, clay, loam, or sand and suits informal hedges, mixed borders, banks, slopes, and wall-side plantings.
Water as needed to maintain even moisture without waterlogging. Prune immediately after flowering, removing some of the oldest stems at the base to preserve the natural outline and encourage young flowering growth. Flowering branches may also be cut for indoor arrangements.
