White flowers opening from pink buds make Rhododendron Möwe a clear spring focal point in an acidic woodland border. Each lightly fragrant bloom carries a yellow-orange marking, while the compact, upright shrub reaches about 5 to 6 feet tall and 4½ to 5 feet wide.
Plant it in partial shade with humus-rich, acidic soil that stays evenly moist but drains freely. A woodland edge, flowering border, or seasonal screen gives the broad, well-branched growth room to develop. Its spring flowers provide nectar for pollinators.
Water during dry periods, mulch lightly with aged bark, and feed with fertilizer for acid-loving plants in early spring and after flowering. Remove spent flower clusters after bloom; regular hard pruning is unnecessary. All parts are toxic if eaten; do not eat any part of the plant.
