Dense clusters of double pink flowers cover Prunus Kanzan in spring as bronze young leaves begin to unfold. Its upright, vase-shaped crown broadens and rounds with age, making the tree a strong lawn specimen or flowering street tree.
The crown matures to about 25 to 36 feet tall and 25 to 30 feet wide. Grow it in full sun or partial shade in moist, well-drained soil. Leaves, stems, and seeds contain toxic compounds and should not be eaten; keep prunings and fallen plant material away from pets and horses.
