Pinus mugo Columnaris brings a tall, very narrow evergreen outline to tight sunny spaces. Long dark green needles and reddish-orange bark keep the column visually distinct through the year.
This slow-growing conifer reaches about 8 to 10 feet tall while remaining about 3.5 to 4 feet wide. Its upright form adds architectural height without the broad spread of many mugo pines.
Plant it in full sun and moist, well-drained clay, loam, or sandy soil. Provide medium water, avoid wet ground, and prune in late winter only when compact growth needs to be retained.
