Ribes nidigrolaria forms a vigorous, thornless bush that produces dark berries in July and August. The tart fruit can be eaten fresh or used in preserves and desserts.
Plant it in full sun or partial shade in moist but well-drained soil. Annual compost mulch, spring fertilizer, and winter removal of older unproductive stems keep the bush open and productive.
