Cream-centered blooms edged in cherry red make Rosa Nostalgie a repeat-flowering rose for sunny borders, patio containers, and cutting gardens. Large, ball-shaped double flowers open from summer into early fall. Its leaves are glossy green, young shoots are red tinged, and the flowers have a light fragrance.
Its upright, bushy growth suits full sun and soil that stays moist but drains well. Apply a balanced fertilizer in late winter or early spring and again in early summer, then mulch after the first feeding. Remove faded blooms to encourage another flush.
The stems carry sharp prickles, so wear gloves during pruning and handling. Aphids, black spot, rust, and powdery mildew may occur.
