Rubus idaeus Tulameen is a vigorous summer-fruiting raspberry with upright, nearly spine-free canes. This late cultivar forms a productive suckering patch and is best trained to wires so leafy laterals receive light and air.
Small white spring flowers develop into generous crops of large, firm, elongated vivid red raspberries. The fruit ripens over a long period and has a fine sweet flavor for fresh eating, desserts, preserving and freezing.
Grow in fertile acidic-to-neutral, moist but well-drained soil in full sun and a sheltered position. Mulch the shallow roots, water consistently during fruit development and remove each fruited cane at ground level after harvest while training in strong replacements.
