Deer resistance and low maintenance keep this catmint useful as well as colorful.
Full sun encourages the best habit, while partial shade is also tolerated. Water regularly during establishment, then keep the soil on the dry side and avoid heavy fertilizer. Trim after the first main summer flower flush to refresh the plant, and remove old stems before growth starts in spring. Check tender shoots for slugs, snails, or aphids. Good drainage lowers the risk of crown rot, and spring or fall division can renew older clumps.
