Early Dutch honeysuckle ‘Belgica’ is a vigorous, twining deciduous climber with paired ovate green leaves. Its abundant tubular flowers open from red-pink buds with creamy white interiors, age to deep yellow, and release a rich fragrance that is strongest in the evening.
Train it over a wall, fence, trellis, or pergola in full sun or partial shade and fertile, moist, well-drained soil. Bright red ornamental berries may follow in warm summers and attract birds, but they are poisonous and should not be eaten.
