Peach-pink buds open into rounded trusses on Rhododendron Percy Wiseman in May and June. Each funnel-shaped flower opens cream with a pale pink flush, then fades creamy white around a yellow throat and restrained orange dorsal spotting.
This compact, bushy evergreen matures about 5 to 8 feet tall and wide. Grow it in full sun or partial shade on a sheltered site with humus-rich acid soil that stays moist but drains well. It suits borders, foundation planting, low hedges, and informal mass planting.
Mulch to keep the root zone cool, water deeply during dry weather, and feed with an acid fertilizer after bloom. Prune only lightly after flowering. The plant is harmful if eaten and is toxic to dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, and tortoises.
